Program Note

Written in April of 2007, this piece was conceived as a short fanfare that consists of a single crescendo-like gesture. The work plays with this idea, and the ability to control its direction and generative process from a temporal standpoint. The title is in reference to the compositional process of creating rhythmicity and direction through a piece within a static or slowly shifting harmonic structure.
