Program Note

Written for the 2017 SinusTon Festival in Magdebourg, Improv M is a 16-channel installation that plays with how the sensory experience of a performance is changed when the perspective of our listening experience originates from within the piece itself. The work itself is improvised live, and plays with the way in which sounds propagate from an asymmetrically placed collection of speakers and how the musical expression of the performer uses their experience to inform the shape and form of the piece.
